Senior Electrical Estimator

We’re working with a leading engineering and utilities contractor to recruit a Senior Electrical Estimator to join their growing team based in Dublin. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced estimator to play a key role in delivering accurate, competitive, and compliant tenders across a range of electrical infrastructure and renewable energy projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation and coordination of electrical estimates across transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and industrial projects.

• Review electrical drawings, specifications, and tender documentation to prepare detailed cost breakdowns.

• Develop accurate material, equipment, and labour take-offs in line with project requirements.

• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive quotations and verify technical compliance.

• Collaborate with internal teams to develop pricing strategies, risk assessments, and tender clarifications.

• Contribute to bid reviews, value engineering exercises, and post-tender negotiations.

• Maintain estimating databases, cost libraries, and supplier information to support ongoing tenders.

• Support project handovers to ensure smooth transition from estimating to delivery.

• Mentor junior estimators and promote continuous improvement in estimating processes.

About You

• Degree or Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in electrical estimating within the power, utilities, or construction sectors.

• Strong technical understanding of LV, MV, and HV systems.

• Proven experience in delivering estimates for electrical infrastructure or renewable energy projects.

• Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.

• Proficient in MS Excel and estimating software.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and professional approach.

• Commercially aware, detail-oriented, and driven to deliver high-quality work.
